Thursday, 28 March 2024 Gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, 63, passed away from a cardiac arrest at Banda Medical College. Despite efforts by nine doctors, he could not be revived. Ansari, a former five-time Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA), was in custody since 2005. Heavy police presence and prohibitory orders were observed in Uttar Pradesh after his demise.
