In Patanjali fallout, FMCG companies under SC lens for misleading advertisements

The Supreme Court on Tuesday broadened its inquiry into misleading advertisements beyond those related to Patanjali Ayurveda products. It requested responses from both the Central government and state authorities regarding measures taken against other FMCG companies that entice consumers with deceptive promotions for their products. IMA itself has been criticised in the past for endorsing products of big pharmaceutical companies.
