Saturday, 11 May 2024 The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) in Haridwar issued summons for the second time to yoga guru Ramdev and his associate, Acharya Balkrishna, in a case regarding misleading advertisements of the Coronil drug. The Supreme Court directive resulted in the revocation of licenses for 14 drugs produced by Patanjali.
On Wednesday, the Supreme Court unequivocally rejected the "unconditional apology" tendered by Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna regarding the deceptive advertisements linked to Patanjali's medicinal goods. Justices Hima Kohli and Ahsanuddin Amanullah, presiding over the bench, sharply criticised Patanjali, characterising their behaviour as "intentional, calculated, and persistent breaches" of the court's directives.
