Queen Elizabeth admitted to hospital with stomach bugby

Britain's Queen Elizabeth II has been admitted to hospital for the first time in 10 years experiencing symptoms of gastroenteritis, a stomach infection

LONDON, United Kingdom -- Queen Elizabeth II was admitted to London's King Edward VII hospital on Sunday to be treated for a stomach bug.

The 86-year-old monarch was said to be in "good health and good spirits" and was expected to remain in hospital for at least two days as a "precautionary measure".

Buckingham Palace confirmed all her official engagements this week have been postponed or cancelled.

A visit to Rome, Italy, scheduled with the Duke of Edinburgh next weekend, may also need to be re-scheduled.

The last time Queen Elizabeth was in hospital was for a minor knee operation in 2003.
