At the start of a three-day farewell for Chavez, close political allies such as Argentine President Cristina Fernandez and Bolivian President Evo Morales gathered around the Venezuelan leader's half-open casket. Chavez' body will be kept here until a funeral on March 08. Hundreds are expected to pay their respects to the late president. Ending one of Latin America's most remarkable populist rules, Chavez died on Tuesday at the age of 58 after battling with cancer for 2 years that was first detected in his pelvis.
