BoE: We need to see evidence inflation is going down
The Governor of the Bank of England has said that he needs to see evidence that inflation “sustainably on the downward path” before considering reductions of interest rates.
The Bank of England has raised interest rates for the 14th time in a row as it signalled that borrowing costs could stay high for a prolonged period of time to keep a lid on inflation.

Chief Cashier of the Bank of England Sarah John has welcomed the new bank notes featuring a portrait of His Majesty The King. The King welcomed Mrs John and Governor of the Bank of England Andrew Bailey to Buckingham Palace, where he was presented with £5, £10, £20 and £50 notes. These are the first notes which feature the image of His Majesty. Mrs John said it's "a great pleasure to be able to show the King what he's going to look like on the bank notes of the future." Mrs John revealed the bank notes will be released to the general public on the 5th of June. Report by Kennedyl. The King welcomed Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey to Buckingham Palace, who presented him with the first bank notes featuring his portrait as monarch. The portrait of His Majesty which appears on the notes is based on a portrait that was provided by the Palace to the Bank of England.

The neighbour of a woman who was mauled to death by XL Bully dogs, says she never saw muzzled dogs anywhere on the estate. Aimee Marston said "We've never ever seen an XL Bully. If they were registered, we would have seen muzzled dogs but I've got two ex-racing greyhounds and we walk them all the time and we never ever see muzzled dogs on the estate." It is believed to be the first fatal attack by the breed since new registration laws came into force in February. Report by Kennedyl. The first victims of the infected blood scandal will receive their final compensation payment before the end of the year, minister John Glen has said. In a statement delivered to the House of Commons, Mr Glen said the payments would be exempt from income, capital gains, and inheritance tax.
