Shuaib's (A.S) father was Fahmil, Fahmil's father was Ezhar and his father was Madyan.
The township is named after Madyan, son of Ibrahim a.s.
Hazrat Shoaib (AS) was sent to this town.
He was the father-in-law of Hazrat Musa(A.S).
He was sent to Qawm Madyan shortly after the destruction of Qawm Lut.
He was known as the best speaker among the prophets because of his excellent eloquence.
Somewhere it is said 'Ashhabul Aiqah' which means dwellers of the forest.
