BRS MLC K Kavitha faces investigation by the Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax officials, suspected of involvement in bribery regarding the Delhi liquor policy.
The searches at her Hyderabad residence allegedly stem from politically motivated actions, according to BRS spokesperson Sravan Dasoju.
Kavitha's apprehension follows raids, with her family members engaging in confrontation with ED officers.
On Wednesday, the Election Commission took action against former Telangana CM and BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao, barring him from campaigning for 48 hours, effective from 8 pm today. This decision was made due to "derogatory and objectionable statements" made by Rao against the Congress party. The EC's action followed a complaint filed by Congress leader G Niranjan, prompting the commission to issue a notice to K Chandrashekar Rao. The EC noted that Rao had previously received several advisories and instructions regarding his speeches.
