Tsunami Alert: Ruang Volcano Raises Fears Of Worst Calamity Since 1871 in Indonesia| Oneindia News
Mount Ruang, a volcano in Indonesia's North Sulawesi Province, erupted multiple times, prompting the highest alert level.
Concerns of a potential tsunami arose, leading to evacuations of over 800 people.
The eruption, spewing ash over a mile high, highlighted Indonesia's vulnerability to seismic and volcanic activity due to its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire.
Torrential rain caused floods and landslides in Indonesia's Sulawesi, claiming 14 lives and displacing residents. Rescue operations evacuated affected individuals, with over 1,000 homes impacted. Indonesia faces frequent natural disasters during heavy rains, highlighting the need for robust disaster response mechanisms to aid affected populations.

The company saw same-store sales rise by
1.9% worldwide between January and March,

Increased menu pricing and delivery demand

Despite this, McDonald's said the company's revenue
increased 5% to reach $6.17 billion, while net income went
up 7% to $1.93 billion, in-line with Wall Street estimates.
'The Independent' reports that Muslim-majority

The boycotts started after a McDonald's franchise in
Israel announced in October that it would provide free

In the months since then, the company has tried to limit
the fallout by taking over all 225 McDonald's in the country
with the purchase of Alyonal Limited, its Israeli franchise.

eruption is getting bigger and
has emitted hot clouds of
approximately 1.7 kilometers, Hendra Gunawan, the head of Indonesia's volcanology agency, via CNN.
About 800 people live on Ruang Island.
