Football club (association football)

In association football, a football club is a sports club that acts as an entity through which association football teams organise their sporting activities. The club can exist either as an independent unit or as part of a larger sports organization as a subsidiary of the parent club or organization. European clubs in their top division of their countries are allowed to participate in the biggest domestic football stage, The Champions League. Clubs must place a certain position or higher to qualify to the champions league. Football Clubs are domestic teams, they do not play against countries.
