Deportivo Alavés, S.A.D., usually known as Alavés, is a Spanish football club based in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Álava, in the autonomous community of the Basque Country. Founded on 1 July 1920 as Sport Friend's Club, Alavés play in La Liga, being promoted back from the Segunda División in the 2022–23 season after beating rivals Levante at the 120th minute in the promotion playoff final.
