Tuesday, 24 December 2024 () [Foroyaa] The Gambia in 2017 embarked on an ambitious project to investigate past human rights violations committed during the 22-year repressive regime of former President Yahya A.J.J Jammeh. A Truth Commission known as the Truth Reconciliation and Reparations Commission (TRRC) was established through legislation to investigate and provide a full and impartial record of the violations. The work was done within two and a half years (871 days).
