Monday, 8 January 2024
The DGCA has checked all 32 Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft with Air India Express, Akasa, and SpiceJet, and they can continue to fly. The regulator asked the three airlines to check emergency exits after an Alaska Airlines B737-9 Max 9 experienced a mid-cabin door plug incident. Akasa Air's MAX, which has a mid-cabin door, has also been checked satisfactorily. SpiceJet confirmed that their Boeing 737 MAX fleet has undergone inspection with no adverse findings, and they do not operate the B737-9 variant of the MAX.
