The Central government's decision to raise employees' dearness allowance by 4% to 50% has led to a 25% increase in retirement gratuity and death gratuity limits, effective from January 1, 2024. This revision, in line with the Seventh CPC recommendations, brings the cap to Rs 25 lakh from Rs 20 lakh.
