The Indian government reported that 56 Boeing 737 Max planes are functioning without recent engine failures. Air India Express operates 25, Akasa Air 24, and SpiceJet 7. In May 2024, a SpiceJet Boeing 737 Max experienced a minor issue, which was handled safely. The DGCA ensures compliance with regulatory requirements through regular surveillance and checks.
