Twenty-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, who attempted to assassinate former US President Donald Trump over the weekend, purchased rounds of ammunition prior to the shooting, American media reported on Monday, July 15. According to a senior law enforcement official speaking to CNN, Crooks bought 50 rounds of ammunition before targeting Trump at his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Although Trump did not sustain severe injuries, he suffered a minor wound on his right ear. Crooks was shot dead by Secret Service agents shortly after he opened fire.
