A terrifying video captures the heart-stopping moment a Los Angeles firefighter is swept off Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) by a massive Malibu Landslide and into the raging Pacific Ocean. The footage, taken during Thursday’s catastrophic storm, shows the firefighter’s LAFD vehicle engulfed by a powerful debris flow near Big Rock Drive in Malibu, as torrents of mud, water, and rocks rush down the hillside. Miraculously, the firefighter managed to escape before being rescued and transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The violent storm, fueled by an atmospheric river, has triggered deadly mudslides and flash floods across Los Angeles County, forcing the indefinite closure of PCH and leaving communities on edge.
