Hansal Mehta slams Balakrishna for pushing Anjali

IndiaTimes Thursday, 30 May 2024
Bollywood director Hansal Mehta recently slammed Telugu star Nandamuri Balakrishna, calling him a "scumbag" after a video went viral showing Balakrishna pushing actress Anjali aside at a pre-release event for her film, 'Gangs of Godavari'. The incident, where Anjali couldn't hear Balakrishna before he pushed her, sparked controversy. Mehta shared the video, questioning Balakrishna's behavior. A social media user defended Balakrishna, highlighting his friendly bond with co-stars and his status in the Telugu film industry as the son of SR NTR and uncle of JR NTR, urging Mehta to reconsider his words. Many others condemned Balakrishna's actions, with one user noting, "It's crazy how so many people give him a free pass." The incident occurred as Balakrishna joined Anjali and her co-stars on stage, leaving Neha Shetty visibly shocked, though Anjali laughed off the moment. Professionally, Balakrishna is noted for hits like 'Akhanda' and 'Veerasimha Reddy', while Mehta is working on his international project, 'Gandhi'.
