Hansal Mehta slams Nagarjuna fan-pushing incident

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 25 June 2024 ()
Director Hansal Mehta and his son, Jai Mehta, expressed disappointment over an incident at Mumbai airport involving South actor Nagarjuna’s bodyguard allegedly pushing a fan. Jai, concerned for his brother Pallava, who has Down syndrome, was troubled that Pallava never had the chance to meet his favorite star despite numerous requests. Hansal Mehta supported Jai’s sentiments on social media. Jai noted the fan might have special needs and recalled seeing him at an airport store previously. He criticized Nagarjuna’s bodyguard's behavior, urging celebrities and public figures to show more empathy and less self-centeredness towards fans. Jai emphasized the need for security guards to handle crowds respectfully. He also mentioned that Nagarjuna did not acknowledge the person his bodyguard had pushed, which disappointed him. Pallava, a fan of Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, avoids events to prevent similar incidents and often faces judgmental looks. Hansal Mehta shared his frustration, recounting his efforts to arrange a meeting between Pallava and the star without success, despite the meaningful impact it would have had on Pallava.
