Mukesh apologizes statement about the Bihar audience

IndiaTimes Wednesday, 10 July 2024 ()
Mukesh Khanna, known for his role as Shaktimaan, stirred controversy with his YouTube review of 'Kalki 2898 AD', where he suggested the film's Western style might not resonate with Bihar and Odisha audiences, whom he implied were less intellectually inclined compared to Western viewers. Facing backlash, Khanna later clarified on X (formerly Twitter) that his critique was solely directed at the film and not meant to demean people from Bihar and Odisha. In his review, Khanna acknowledged watching the film with his team, including members from Bihar, who found its first half boring. He explained that his comments about intellect were in context of the film's complexity, which he felt might not be easily understood by average viewers in Bihar and Odisha.
