Kiran Rao's film 'Laapataa Ladies' was screened at a special event at the Supreme Court on Friday. The screening, held in the auditorium of the Supreme Court Administrative Building Complex, was attended by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, Supreme Court judges, their spouses, and registry officials. A video of Aamir Khan arriving at the Supreme Court for the event has been circulating online. After the screening, Aamir Khan was seen leaving Court No. 1, where Chief Justice Chandrachud welcomed him, humorously saying, "I don’t want a stampede in the court, but we welcome Mr. Aamir Khan, who is here for the screening of the film." Laapataa Ladies, directed by Kiran Rao and produced by Aamir Khan and Jyoti Deshpande, is based on an award-winning story by Biplab Goswami. The film, which was released in March 2024, explores the theme of gender equality and was part of the activities marking the Supreme Court's seventy-fifth anniversary.
