Amid the crisis surrounding the Hema Commission report and sexual misconduct allegations, Mohanlal has resigned from his role as President of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). This historic mass resignation includes all office bearers. After consulting Mammootty, Mohanlal remained steadfast in his decision. An ad-hoc committee will manage the organization temporarily and new elections will occur within two months, with the current leadership not returning.
