Shah Rukh Khan shared that Mani Ratnam initially envisioned Alaipayuthey for him while working on Dil Se. Rani Mukerji’s casting in Chalte Chalte led them to ensure it differed from Saathiya. SRK's next film, King, marks his daughter Suhana’s big-screen debut, featuring her alongside Abhishek Bachchan and SRK himself.
