Wicked: Part One has set a new record at the US box office. Directed by Jon M. Chu and starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, it became the highest-grossing film based on a Broadway musical. By its second weekend, the film earned an estimated $214.3 million domestically, surpassing the lifetime gross of 'Grease'.
