French director found guilty in #MeToo trial

A Paris court found filmmaker Christophe Ruggia guilty of sexually assaulting actor Adele Haenel during her teenage years and sentenced him to two years of house arrest. Haenel, who had previously walked out of the Cesar Awards in protest, had publicly accused Ruggia in 2019, igniting attention toward sexual abuse in the French film industry.
