SP Balasubrahmanyam Road: Chennai street named after singer
Wednesday, 12 February 2025 () Chennai's Kamdar Nagar Main Road has officially been renamed SP Balasubrahmanyam Road in honor of the legendary playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam. The renaming ceremony was conducted by Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin and attended by officials and SPB's family. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin acknowledged SPB’s everlasting legacy, fulfilling the request made by his family and fans. SP Balasubrahmanyam's son, SP Charan, expressed gratitude on social media for this recognition. Born in 1946, SPB's singing career began in the 1960s, making lasting contributions to music.
