DGP Ramachandra Rao knew of Ranya Rao's protocol use

An investigation into the gold smuggling case involving Kannada actor Ranya Rao has revealed that her stepfather, DGP K Ramachandra Rao, was aware of her using police protocol services. However, no direct evidence links him to smuggling activities. Authorities will decide on action for violating conduct rules. Ranya Rao was arrested with 14.2 kg of gold at Bengaluru airport.
