AR Rahman: 'I wake at 2:30 am, sleep by 7 am daily'

IndiaTimes Monday, 21 April 2025 ()
Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman prefers working at night, finding it more peaceful and productive. He avoids Mumbai’s daytime traffic by traveling late and follows a reversed sleep schedule, waking at 2:30 am. Inspired by Lata Mangeshkar, he practices riyaz daily for 30–40 minutes to maintain his musical discipline.
