ULEZ scrappage scheme extended after policy blamed for Labour's Uxbridge by-election defeat
Thursday, 3 August 2023 London mayor Sadiq Khan has expanded the scrappage scheme for cars to comply with his ultra low emission zone (ULEZ) after it was blamed for Labour's defeat in the Uxbridge by-election.

A man has appeared in court charged with two counts of murder after the discovery of human remains in suitcases in Bristol, and, at a flat in west London. 34-year-old Yostin Andres Mosquera appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates Court earlier today. Police have named the two victims as 62-year-old Albert Alfonso and 71 year old Paul Longworth who lived together at a flat in Shepherds Bush. The suspect had been staying with them.
