Birmingham, the UK's second-largest city, has found itself on the brink of financial collapse. The Birmingham city council has effectively declared bankruptcy, shutting down all nonessential spending, following equal pay claims totaling 956 million dollars.
Michael Gove says, "you've got to believe you can win", the general election, even if the chances are "slimmer". The levelling-up secretary adds Labour's leadership has driven Birmingham City Council "to the brink of bankrupcy" and is a "test case of the difference between Conservative and Labour policies".
