More than 146,000 lives saved and counting: RNLI marks 200th anniversary
Monday, 4 March 2024 On a Sunday morning in the seaside town of Whitby, North Yorkshire, a group of volunteers gather at the lifeboat station. The team are from a range of backgrounds, ages and walks of life, but they all share one common aim. In their spare time, they help to save lives.
The King paid a visit to the worldβs largest plant that makes wind turbine bases in North Yorkshire on Thursday. His Majesty toured the grounds of the factory and met with staff as part of his visit. An English castle has gone on sale after being in the same family for more than 700 years. Ripley Castle in North Yorkshire even comes with its own village where 200 residents live.
