Pierce Brosnan fined after pleading guilty to walking off trail in Yellowstone National Park
Thursday, 14 March 2024 Former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan has been fined after pleading guilty to stepping off a trail in a thermal area in Yellowstone National Park.
Two months after entering a not guilty plea to the offence, Pierce Brosnan has admitted he hiked too close to dangerous geothermal pools – and has been ordered to pay a fine of more than $1,500 for the offence.
An explosion rocked Yellowstone's Biscuit Basin on July 23, 2024, damaging a boardwalk but causing no injuries. These events occur when hot water rapidly turns to steam underground. Yellowstone experiences such explosions a few times yearly, with most being small and unnoticed. While not indicative of volcanic activity, they can eject rocks, mud, and boiling water.
