Sudan could be weeks away from a 'catastrophic hunger crisis'
Sunday, 17 March 2024 Sudan could be just weeks away from a catastrophic famine, aid workers have warned, as community volunteers struggle to feed the hungry amid security restrictions and armed violence.
The World Food Programme (WFP) is stepping up its efforts to deliver aid to conflict-affected areas in Sudan. More than 700 trucks of food are on their way to help millions of people at serious risk of starvation.
