Peers approve £100 allowance for their overnight stays
Wednesday, 27 March 2024 Members of the House of Lords have approved changes to their allowance system that will grant them up to £100 per night to cover overnight stays in London for parliamentary business.
Sue Gray, Sir Keir Starmer’s former chief of staff, took her seat in the House of Lords on Tuesday. Ms Gray was sworn in as Baroness Gray of Tottenham just months after departing her government role.
