Sale of alcohol to be banned overnight in parts of Majorca and Ibiza
Friday, 10 May 2024 The sale of alcohol will be totally banned between 9.30pm and 8am in areas of "excessive tourism" in Majorca and Ibiza, under a new decree passed by the government of Spain's Balearic Islands.
A wave of protest against the negative impact of mass tourism is sweeping over Spain’s most popular holiday hotspots. Euronews reporter Valérie Gauriat travelled to Majorca, the biggest of the Balearic Islands, to hear from residents who feel their future is under threat.

At least four people have died and dozens of others have been injured following a building collapse in Majorca, emergency services said. Writing on X, emergency services in Palma said that seven people were very seriously injured, and a further nine seriously injured. Report by Kennedyl.
