Outgoing MP quits Tory party to support rival Reform candidate
Monday, 27 May 2024 An MP who is not contesting her seat at the election has quit the Conservative Party after she was suspended for supporting the Reform candidate in her constituency.

Nigel Farage has renewed calls for a national inquiry into grooming gangs, criticising the Jay Review as inadequate. Speaking at Reform UK’s North West conference, he claimed a targeted investigation was needed into what he described as “deeply racist” crimes. Farage said grooming gangs, “predominantly of Pakistani origin,” targeted white working-class girls and that understanding the scale and motives of these crimes was crucial to stopping them.
