Tory MPs win tug of war with party officials over leadership contest timeline to replace Sunak
Thursday, 18 July 2024 Senior Conservative MPs appear to have won a battle against party officials who wanted a speedy leadership contest to replace Rishi Sunak.
Foreign Secretary David Lammy has described the Israel-Hamas ceasefire deal as "a glimmer of light in the darkness".
