Maternity failings uncovered across England are 'cause for national shame'
Wednesday, 18 September 2024 () A health watchdog has warned that failings identified within NHS maternity services across England are "more widespread" than previously thought.
The health secretary has vowed to end "two-tier healthcare" in the NHS in a speech delivered at the Labour conference. Wes Streeting said the NHS has let people down in recent years. "We are the generation that will build a national care service worthy of it's name. That's the change Britain voted for," he said.
