At least 15 people killed as landslide hits illegal gold mine
Friday, 27 September 2024 At least 15 people have been killed, with dozens still buried under thick mud after a landslide hit an unauthorised gold mining operation on the island ofย Sumatra, officials said.
A landslide at an illegal mine in western Indonesia has killed 13 people, as search efforts for any further victims end. Heavy rains caused the disaster, with rescue workers having to walk for hours from the nearest village to reach the area.
