Thousands of low-paid NHS staff miss out on COVID bonuses
Monday, 30 September 2024 () Thousands of staff who risked their lives working in hospitals during the pandemic still haven't been given the COVID bonus awarded to NHS staff last year.
The health secretary has vowed to end "two-tier healthcare" in the NHS in a speech delivered at the Labour conference. Wes Streeting said the NHS has let people down in recent years. "We are the generation that will build a national care service worthy of it's name. That's the change Britain voted for," he said.
