Early-stage cancer diagnoses at record levels

The number of patients being diagnosed with cancer at an early stage in England has reached a record high. Nearly three in five patients are being diagnosed at stages one and two, when the cancer is easier to treat. Pressures on the NHS however, mean targets for starting treatment are still not where they'd like them to be, said Professor Peter Johnson, Clinical director for cancer, NHS England. Families urged to look out for dementia signs over Christmas

The NHS is urging friends and family to look out for signs and symptoms of dementia in their loved ones as they meet up over the festive period.
