UK budget dims prospect of aggressive rate cuts, say economists
Monday, 4 November 2024 Hopes for consecutive interest rate cuts by the Bank of England over the next two months have been dampened by the UK government's recent budget, economists have warned.
The Bank of England has cut interest rates to 4.5%, down from 4.75%. That means the interest rate is at its lowest level since June 2023, meaning the cost of borrowing has fallen to its lowest point in more than 18 months. Report by Kennedyl.
