Hospitality chiefs warn Reeves of carnage over Budget tax hikes
Saturday, 9 November 2024 () Rachel Reeves will this weekend be told by some of Britain's biggest hospitality groups that the tax hikes imposed in last month's Budget risk triggering a tsunami of job losses across the sector.
The chancellor appears to have a fight on her hands with Britain's family farmers. In her Budget, Rachel Reeves closed a loophole to stop rich people investing in land to reduce their inheritance tax bills, penalising them with a new million pound tax threshold.
