Row over how many farms will be affected by inheritance tax policy - as PM doubles down
Monday, 18 November 2024 Sir Keir Starmer has insisted the "vast majority of farmers" will not be affected by changes to Inheritance Tax (IHT) ahead of a protest outside parliament on Tuesday.
The policing minister has defended the government's decision to impose Inheritance Tax on farms worth over £1 million. Diana Johnson said the Labour government have had to make "difficult decisions" after inheriting a "£22 billion blackhole in the public finances" when they came to power in July....
Sir Keir Starmer promises to execute his plan for change for the country in a new plea for people to vote for Labour at the local elections on May 1. Starmer vows, "only Labour will secure our borders, put more cash in your pocket, make your streets safer".
