Sunday, 12 January 2025 Tens of thousands of people are demanding that the election resume from the second round. The first round's results were annulled after declassified security documents reported Russian backing for the shock front-runner.
Romania was plunged into turmoil after Călin Georgescu, a far-right populist, won, only for allegations of electoral violations and Russian interference to emerge.
