Several U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) websites and datasets related to HIV, LGBTQ issues, youth health behaviors, and more were removed following an executive order from President Donald Trump. The order mandates the elimination of federal diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs and directs the government to recognize only two sexes: male and female. A memo from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, issued on January 29, instructs federal agencies to remove “all outward-facing media,” including websites and social media accounts, that promote or reflect gender ideology by 5 p.m. Friday.
