Minister says there's 'no place' where violence against women 'doesn't happen' - as spiking to become new offence
Friday, 21 February 2025 () Jess Phillips has said "there is no place" where violence against women and girls "doesn't happen" - as a new law is set to make spiking a criminal offence.
Safeguarding Minister Jess Phillips says 'Raneem's law' scheme will “sort the systems we have now that are currently failing” as the initial phase is rolled out. The new law is named in memory of Raneem Oudeh who was killed by her ex-husband that she had reported to the police at least seven times.
