A former Colorado sheriff’s deputy has been convicted of criminally negligent homicide in the shooting death of a 22-year-old man in distress who called 911 for help after his car got stuck in a small mountain community. Jurors found Andrew Buen guilty Thursday in the 2022 death of Christian Glass. The case drew national attention and led to changes in how officers are trained to respond to mental health and other crises. Prosecutors had sought a conviction on the more serious charge of second degree murder.
