Saturday, 8 July 2023 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday unleashed a scathing attack on Congress and said that dubbed the party as a 'loot ki dukaan' and 'jhooth ka bazaar". Addressing an election rally in Rajasthan's Bikaner, the prime minister said that ever since Congress came to power in Rajasthan, "it has created another identity of corruption, crime and appeasement".
The Seventh phase of the Lok Sabha Elections is underway as 57 seats across 8 states and union territories go to polls. Indians will vote in the final phase of their staggered elections, concluding the world's largest electoral exercise that began on April 19. Voters will decide the fate of 904 candidates, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for 57 seats across eight states and union territories, electing MPs for the 18th Lok Sabha, the lower House of Parliament.

Over 50 people reportedly died due to heatstroke in different parts of the country since Thursday. These deaths were reported as the temperature soared past 50 degrees Celsius in parts of North India, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Bihar this week.
