Why Himanta Biswa Sarma said Assam will end love jihad
Friday, 28 July 2023 Taking a strong stand against love jihad, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said the government will put an end to it. He also threatened action against state Congress president Bhupen Borah for stating that the marriages between Lord Krishna and Rukmini as well as that between Dhritarashtra and Gandhari in Mahabharata were love jihad.
Delhi police on Saturday detained former personal secretary of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Bibhav Kumar, in connection with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Swati Maliwal assault case. In her complaint to the police, Maliwal alleged Kumar attacked her at Kejriwal’s residence on May 14 with “full force, slapping and kicking her in the chest and abdomen.” According to National Commission For Women (NCW) Chairperson Rekha Sharma, Kumar was ‘arrested’ from Kejriwal’s home.
